Pours up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a deep mahogany colored body that supports a dark tan head. The aroma offers up spicy dark roasty notes, chocolate, sweeter sort of berry, malt balls, some hints of woodiness and a peppery sense floating above everything else. The taste delivers smooth dark roasted malts and a bit of burnt maltiness. To midway the dark roasty party is mildly interrupted by chocolate and a light faintly sweet strawberry like note. Behind those notes lurks spicy pepper and a woody sensation. Another fun beer.
