Collaboration with our friends at Goose Island. Wooden Wings is a massive imperial stout aged for over 18 months in bourbon barrels. Rich umami on the nose - paired with flavors of charred oak, subtle smoke, sweet whiskey, chocolate, and subtle notes of caramel.

Dark brown. Clear, some head.
Nose is oak. Really strong oak tannin with a hint of bourbon heat and just wood, wood, and more wood. Caramel and dark chocolate behind it fail to balance.
Just a mouthful of wood. Wtf?? This is strange as hell. Tannic, with some dark chocolate. Drier, not quite syrupy. Dominated by raw wood/oak. No thanks!
