Appearance is murky and dull. Not great. Thick head. That nose...lots of cedar. Wood at first, then boughs. The palate is fruity, more cedar, decent bitterness. A bit too much carbonation for the style, and the malt base could use some complexity. But the cedar is why we're here, and the use of it is restrained, lending nuance to the base beer rather than clubbing you over the head. Pretty good - I feel like a stronger base (more like English Strong Ale, 7-8%) would provide a better backdrop for something like cedar, too.

473mL can. Pours murky amber with an off-white head. Dry, bready malts and some crisp cedar on the nose. Flavour has dry bread crumbs and a very nice woody cedar character. The cedar works really well with the base beer and has been well-incorporated. Great beer.

473mL can, pours a cloudy amber with a small beige head. Aroma is malty and dry, with bready malt, a touch of cedar, and some toasted notes. Flavour is malty, with plenty of dry bready malt and toasted cedar. Bready, dry, and woody finish. Good stuff.
