Draught @ Zoiglstube Gänstaller Drei Kronen Straßgiech, Drosendorfer Straße 24, Schesslitz-Strassgiech, Bavaria Germany 96110. [ As Ocator Mai Bock ].Clear medium orange yellow colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, pale malt, light caramel, light to moderate hoppy. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, sugary, dry, spicy hops. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130510]

Tapped(@Drei Kronen Straßgiech in the beergarden):Almost clear, golden to deep golden, herbal-hoppy nose, bready traces detectable in the solid bisquity-honeyish background; solid sweet-bitter flavour, soft MF, almost full bodied; lingering herbal-hoppy and fruity finish with a bisquity counterpart. Had@Helsinki Beer Festival 2013 (thanks for sharing this one goes to Rauno!). Goldeny amber with a mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is sweet malts, some bread, mild spicyness as well as some slight grassy notes. Flavour is sweet malts, some mild alcohol sweetness, mild spices, resin and some toasted and alcoholic notes as well. Balanced and pleasant doppelbock.

Draught @ HBF 2013 Pours yellowish with foamy head. Aroma of farmyard, mild smoke and malts. Taste is fruity, mildly smoked and farmyardy. Finish is sweetish and fruity. Quite good.

(Draught at HBF2013) The beer poured golded and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, sweetness and alcohol. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, grass, mildly molasses and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. Nice clean pale doppelbock.

Aroma is slightly sweet with malty notes and honey. Flavour is sweet with honey, some grainy notes and hay. Does not feel like 8,1%. Too sweet and sticky.
Could be a heller bock as well, but RB has no ’heller doppelbock’ style.
