Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a nice dark brown to chocolate colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up lager yeasty esters, dark roasted bread, a sliver of plum and then chocolate. The taste delivers a pleasing blend of lager yeasty esters, dark roasted malts, plenty of chocolate malts and a then a thin sweet plum note. The chocolate hangs around for a while with fading dark roasted malts and sweet dark fruity esters. As it warms a tad there's a faint earthy wet tobacco leaf sensation that bubbles weakly to the surface. Solid brew. Typically Americanized with bigger and more varied flavors and it works.
