Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a murky mahogany colored body that supports a thin light tan head of foam that leaves behind some spotty lacing. The aroma offers up sweet crystal malts, molasses, plums and then faint spiciness leaning towards black strap molasses. The taste delivers sweet spicy black strap molasses, brown sugar nuanced plums and then a bit of sweet dates in the background. This is a really nice winter time sipper with basically zero funkiness; which is just fine.
