Our Fallen Angels Imperial Stout Series will showcase our darkest, most infernal beers. Barrel aged, high strength, huge flavours. Cast them down.
An intense and complex imperial stout. Aged for 20 months in Speyside whisky barrels for decedent black forest gateaux chocolate and black cherry flavours. Intense sherry notes dominate with a light hint of whisky. Finished with a small amount of smoked pasilla de Oaxaca chillies for a light warmth.

440ml can. Pours black with almost no head. Aroma of boozy sherry, whisky, cherries, oaky. Taste is very intense and drinks more like actual sherry or whisky than a beer, so much of it, very woody/oaky, slightly earthy, light chilli kick, some dark/chocolate malts, warming boozy (rather than chilli) finish. Silky smooth mouthfeel.
Awkward to rate this one. Nothing technically wrong with it, and I understand it was intentional but the barrel ageing is far too intense for me to appreciate the beer - made it a struggle to drink. A *very* slow sipper for sure.

Appearance- oily black, no head at all apart from a few beige bubbles. Aroma- lots of vinous notes, Christmas pudding, dark rum, raisin, cherry skins, plum, very boozy. Taste is leathery dark malt, whisky, vinous notes, cherry, boozy fruitcake, port wine, rum & raisin, roasted scorched malt, burnt dark fruits, lots of alcohol. Espresso and rich chocolate in the finish. Intense, a bit rough around the edges.
