Planetary Twins shows what is possible when you gaze past your own horizon and look to your neighbors for inspiration. Utilizing freshly-emptied gin barrels from our friends at Santa Cruz's Venus Spirits, we filled these sodden barrels with saison made richer by generous additions of oats and spelt. The result is a sturdy and substantial beer, dripping with botanical notes. Enjoy this bottle as you toast to those near and dear to your own orbit!

Poured from 750 ml bottle.
Aroma is gin forward and very herbal and herbaceous with a lighter floral note. Lighter fruity notes with lime and citrus. Lighter stone fruit notes. Light grain notes and light alcohol notes.
Pours a slightly hazy, golden-orange, medium large, thick, fluffy, white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers in clumps and along the edges. Moderate lacing and medium small legs.
Flavor is somewhat sweet with medium light grain notes and lighter spelt and oak. Medium bitterness and medium light alcohol notes. Fairly citrus forward with quite a bit of lime and lime zest. Lighter herbal, gin barrel notes. Hints of stone fruit.
Mouthfeel is medium full bodied and creamy with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a solid gin barrel saison. Tons of gin character in the aroma while the flavor is a bit more citrus and fruit forward. The spelt and oats add a nice creamy mouthfeel. Balanced bitterness and malt sweetness.

Poured from the tap @ SARA Arbor. Lightly hazy yellow gold with small white head. Very nice gin forward aroma, picking up some thyme spices with a feint spelt underlay. Excellent.
