India Pharmhouse Ale aged in oak and acacia barrels and conditioned with brettanomyces
Our hop forward ale begins with orange and grapefruit aromas. A medium bitterness balances with bready malt flavors, while a background note of oak tannins pulls it all together. Finally, Brettanomyces brings on the encore performance. Drink fresh now or store in a cool dark cellar to let the Brett flavors and aromas evolve, if you’re into that. For the full back story click here.
Cases Produced: 150
Malt: Simpson Marris Otter, Rahr 2 row pale, Weyerman Munich, Simpson Light Crystal
Hops: CTZ, Amarillo, Pacifica, Sorachi Ace
Yeast: Saccharomyces, Bettanomyces Bruxellensis Var Drei
Barrels: French oak and acacia, Oregon Pinot Noir and Chardonnay
Food pairings: Grilled burgers, green curry, mild blue cheese, carrot cake

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange color with a small white head. A big zesty nose of citrus and funk. Big brett, some lemons, soft oranges, toast. A bit thin in the palate. Funky throughout. Quite nice.

On tap @ What’s Brewing, Stavanger. Pours dark golden, with a big creamy, off white head. Aroma is bretty wooden notes, with berries and grapes, as well as some herbal hops with tropical notes and citrus. Medium to full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is tart berries, wooden bretty notes and farmhouse as well as some tropical hops. Dry, yeasty finish.

22.10.2016, tap @ What’s Brewing:
Nice slightly fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry funky, brett, minerals, wet grass, berry skin, overripe mountain berries, barnyard, flowers, citrus peel, fruit stones. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish, weeds, fruit stones, brett, citrus peel, barnyard, minerals, wet grass, overripe mountain berries, heather, moss, hay, flowers. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly dry mineraly mouthfeel. A bit too dry mouthfeel, but nice.
