Love the can, especially since it is a tall boy. And a barley wine, I can appreciate. I pour inside of a snifter to see an impenetrable, dark brown-amber liquid topped by a light skim of silvery foam. The nose, ah, ripe fruit and a bit of funk. Delightful. I take a drink, hmm, a bit of a departure. A little sourness at the front, dark fruit, a certain vinous influence, plums, grain and field. A bit different than expected. Unfortunate in a style I like considerably.

Pint can pours with a clear deep dark red mahogany colored body that supports basically no head at all. The aroma offers up dates, raisins and cherries as well as a small variety of malt notes. The taste delivers sweet date and raisin and cherry like dark fruity esters that are nicely cut by the level of booze as well as a few multi grain bread maltiness and a dash of reduced sugars. This is a nice straight forward estery barlewine that may improve with a bit of age or not. Not sure. It's not good enough to go out and buy more.
