White waxed 50cl bottle pours with a mahogany colored body that supports a short lived dark tan head of foam. The aroma offers up dates, plums and some figs followed by molasses, cognac and a growing mild booziness. The taste delivers smooth slick sweet plums and dates flowing quickly into molasses, a thin vanilla note and malt like sweetness. To midway the booze, spicy oak and blend of booze, cognac and bourbon start to take over the whole experience. Overall this is a well balanced sipper that ends up a little on the thin side. Just a solid barleywine offering.
