Combining opposite ends of the spectrum from our barrel room led to a unique complexity we've yet to experience. Young, heavy fudge/cocoa from an 8-month-old Buffalo Trace BA imperial stout. Also some incredibly deep almond, rye toast, sherry and toffee coming from our old friend Burray Mill. Together they achieve a strong, warming quality with an aroma that just keeps evolving. An ambitious blend for our 5th year anniversary.

16oz (thanks, Nick S.!) @ Ryan's after kids' time. Appearance: almost black with a dark beige head. Aroma: lots of charred oak, even some meaty notes maybe, chocolate. Taste: along the same lines, not as thick as I would expect, moderately sweet, with quite a lot of sherry notes, very fruity, lots of nice dark fruits and oak in aftertaste. Overall: good one.

Poured from 473mL can. Black with small beige head. Roasty malt, bourbon, oak with hints of sherry, Quite nice.

Pint can pours with a dark body that supports a nice mocha colored head of foam. The aroma offers up an inviting cloud of chocolate, chocolate fudge, dark roasted malts and a boozy barrel character. The taste is smooth rich and luxurious with a slightly thin body. I get chocolate chips, chocolate fudge and a thin hit of caramel. Just behind those notes are murmurs of sweet slick reduced sugars and booze. The barrel treatment imparts kind of fudgy booziness. Solid sipper.
