We’ve got big love for our Rocky Mountain friends over at @outerrangebrewingco. They’re making some world class IPAs & Belgian styles in one of the most beautiful places in the country (Frisco, CO). Lee flew out to brew a 8.1% heavily-hopped, wheat forward Double IPA. Built around a split grain bill of malted & flaked wheat, as well as AZ grown & malted @sinaguamalt barley. Whirlpool hopped with Nelson and then dry hopped with a blend of Nelson & some especially tropical Columbus hops. This one has one of the biggest fruit aromas we’ve ever encountered in this style. So intensely tropical! Notes of mango, tangerine and good ol’ orange slices.

Pint can pours with a murky opaque dirty gold copper body that supports a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up an inviting blend of mango, tangerine, clementine and orange wedges. Yes! The taste delivers similar notes with juicy tangy tangerine and mango hitting first and driving home flavor goodness. Yum. To midway it becomes a little softer and sweeter for a moment as cantaloupe bubbles to the surface. Into the finish the juicy tanginess is met by a mild sense of grapefruit like hop bitterness. This is just solid and balanced and really tasty. Wow.
