The original Devilfish secret. Only 72 bottles of this were made and never sold – just for the brewers this one. But word got out so we dusted down the recipe with some reluctance…

Tastes: Full of flavour, malty, fruity, strong aromas and a lovely deep finish.
Looks: Dark brown and rich.

Cask (gravity) @ The 18th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2012, Reading, Berkshire England.Clear medium amber brown colour with a small to average, frothy and open, fair lacing, mostly diminishing to lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, riped fruity - berry. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, grass, licorice, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120504]

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Clear amber beer, no real head. Light dry palate. Low carbonation. Fairly strong malt, a little dark character, mild toffee. Nice dried fruits and citrus. Dark orange and mild apricot. Tangy. Mild candy fruits. Dry finish.

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Deep amber colour, small head. Aroma is fruity, caramelly, floral and also has some nuttyness as well as some bready malts. Flavour is quite similar with some resin and toffee added.

cask at reading ... dark red brown .. soft mellow roast malt ... soft roast nose ... mellow toffee malts .. juicy and fruity ... quite simple but nice
