Can’t say I recall sampling a strawberry flavored IPA before. Generally speaking, flavored IPAs don’t trip my trigger. But it is a DIPA and it was brewed in Texas. I have a Great Heights snifter ready to catch the pour from the 16 oz can I bought at the steady, local craft beer shop. The appearance is a non-transparent gold body carrying a spare skim of snow white foam. The scent is vaguely strawberries along with the barest touch of hops. A drink gives some pine, a light touch of strawberry fruitiness, malt, a little bitterness and a nice full sensation. I have to say I am underwhelmed but the can will be finished.

On tap at the source. Stemless wine glass. Hazy, orangy turning a bit russet with a soft ring of lace. Smell is a bittersweet dusting of rind & berries. More than subtle, round, natural, makes me curious. Bittersweet, powdery & cautious pith, low tart, hints of green strawberry, sweet onion(maybe too much), indirectly floral, earthy finish. Quite lovely. Frothy, hidden acid, drying return, okay strength. Tasty.
