La Cumbre and an IPA too? All right. This 16 oz can came to me by way of the Total Wine in Santa Fe. 8.5% ABV by the label, so okay, let us make the pour into a a snifter. A cloudy, mostly light yellow body with a blocky head of completely white foam that settles shortly. I smell hoppiness, tropical and citrus. The taste is in line with the new IPA hybrid mode. Mostly citrus with lemon and grapefruit, a touch of pineapple, lightly pine, some astringency and a dry tartness. Nowhere close to the level of Elevated but La Cumbre keeps generating.

Pint can. Pours a cloudy/opaque yellow color with a smallish white head that soon recedes into a fine scum. The aroma is big and bold with fresh grapefruit and a touch of lemons. The taste is nice clean grapefruit and lemons with only modest bitterness. The palate is full and viscous with soft carbonation. Finishes somewhat short and dry. Overall: Decent DIPA. Went down easy. Paired with a sharp English cheddar, and that did not work as well as i hoped it would, but that is on my poor judgement.
