Imperial stouts I like significantly, a 12.2% (label on my can) version, whew, here we go. Pint can that was purchased at Mr. T's locally, opened and going inside of my New Belgium globe glass. Truly an impy stout dark-as-hell color with a pillowy cover of medium tan foam, all encouraging. I smell cherries first, sweet and sour, chocolate and then perhaps some dark bread. I lift the glass and take a drink, tolerably all right. My complaint with cherries as an add-in to stouts is that it overwhelms everything else. Not as much the case here but the presence is strong. Chocolate, vanilla, grain, straw and jam. Absolutely no intrusion of the ABV into the drink, perhaps later. Interesting and good but down the list for me for the style.

From a pint can. Pours an opaque cola with a small tan head. Aromas of cherry and chocolate. Flavors are sweet chocolate and vanilla. Nice.

12 oz can was a present from my daughter. Nose is chocolate milk, cherry, and vanilla. Black with a medium, quick dissipating, tan head. Flavor is a mildly sweet chocolate covered cherry cordial.
