12 oz. can from HEB in San Antonio, TX. Pours a semi-clear light gold color with a small white head and poor retention. Zero lacing. Very light pale malt aroma. Sweet, soapy, cheap lager flavor, with some old lemon notes in the finish. Not good. Light body. Lifeless, low carbonation mouthfeel. Not bitter. Disappointing effort. I don't understand the praise here.

Maybe my last chance this year to sit on the front porch and sampke new beer. This 12 oz can came from the ever changing singles rotation at the nearest HEB. I’m using a Karbach shaker glass this afternoon to take the pour. The look is a bright gold liquid with a barely-there presence of fine, white bubbles. Nice carbonation. I smell grain and perhaps a bit of citrus. The unadorned taste is corn, citrus, straw and a sliver of apple. I enjoy the stronger than expected bitterness. A decent brew in the style. Later I’ll add a slice of lime to complete the circle.
