The last beer, a 16 oz can, out of a delivery from Halftime. Did I save the best for last? Based on the style and the ingredients, that was my plan. I’ve got my Great Heights snifter in place to receive. A dense black, certainly, with a momentary skim of tan foam. I smell chocolate, grain and booze. And at last I get to the drink. Oh my, this is pretty fine. Let me say right off, smooth, quite smooth. There is dark chocolate, pecans, a bit of coconut, whole grain bread, caramel, dark fruit and bourbon. Decently dense in sensation, a plus in my book. There’s not much else one could want in an imperial stout imho.

16 oz. from the BA Extreme Beer Box. Aroma has notes of bourbon, chocolate, licorice. Pours very dark brown to black with a half finger beige head that falls fairly quickly into a ring. Taste is moderately to highly sweet with a moderately bitter edge. Flavors of bourbon, coconut, chocolate, vanilla, leafy hops. Nice velvety mouthfeel. Good stuff.
