Maple Branch calls this beer an Imperial Kolsch because of the higher-than-usual abv of 7.9%, I assume. Sampled at the brewery on a cool winter evening with family around. The beer displayed a clear yellow with no head. The smell was of grain and a developing sweetness. I tasted honey, grain, water and hard candy. The mentioned abv was not discernible. Not your normal Kolsch, but I liked it. --- Beer merged from original tick of Maple Branch Into The Unknown on 28 Nov 2021 at 00:21 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5.
