Støckel Sweet Stout is brewed with barley malt, barley and hop. The beer is black with red ”highlights” of hazelnut colour, dense froth at the top.

Støckel Sweet Stout has an aroma of dark chocolate and sweet espresso, with hints of liquorice and roasted nuts. The beer is of a smooth structure and leaves a pleasant experience that dries the palate, on which hints of toasted malt and coffee combine into a nice, balanced completion.

Støckel Sweet Stout goes well with smoked meat or fish, scallops and sweet or fruity desserts.

Canned@CPH BF 2013. More or less pitch black colour with a mediumsized brown head. Aroma is ripe fruits, ashes, roasted notes along with mild liquorice. Flavour is mild liquorice, ashes, roasted malts and some toffee as well as ripe fruits. Yet quite thin and all too soft for being a proper stout.

500 ml can, from Superbrugsen, Ans. ABV is 4.4%. Dark brown colour nearly black. Moderate off-white to beige head. Sweetish malty and roasty aroma, notes of caramel, black bread, burnt toast, coffee and dark chocolate. The mouthfeel is fairly thin for a sweet stout The flavour is not quite as sweet as expected, sourish malty notes, mild roasty notes of coffee and ashes, dusty finish, too little hops. Drinkable, but far from exciting.

500ml can from Skinnyviking, shared at the great Absalon Sunday session 13. Near-black body. Diminishing tan-coloured head. Poor lacing. Grainy dark chocolate nose. Grainy and, in fact, some sourish malts in flavour. A little roasted malts to the finish. Possible to drink (hotel room, Copenhagen 26.05.2013).
