Draft pour pint at Urban Family, poured into their signature IPA glass. The first gorgeous, sunny weekend day in Seattle of the year, so every place is packed to open up the brewpub crawl season. What a season it will be too. Thick juicy orange haze. Loose bubble foam head. Expectations are always high with a brew featuring the included hops. It's really hard to go wrong with that starting lineup, though perhaps not all stud lineups have the chemistry to succeed together, and are better on their own. Maybe my expectations were too high, and it was a tad unfair going into this brew. Aroma is fantastic, has that tropical punch, fresh fruit feel. Inviting. Flavor for me is super soapy, with a subtle bitterness that creeps in late. Tropical fruit, and a peach punch flavor holds the base in the background. Thick body, but it's hard for me to shake the soapy aspect to this hazy. Maybe just me. I complain, but there is plenty of good going on with this brew. Fresh feel, refreshing finish, amazing hop aroma. I bet this beer is a couple tweaks away from something really special.
