This is the way a fruit stout should be - light and subtle on the blackberry but just enough to add something interesting. Lots of roast. Pours black with great head and lacing. Creamy texture. Bitter finish. Tap at brewery.

Draft pour pint enjoyed at Cloudburst. 8/18/2018. An incredible imperial here. I don't know if its the raspberries, but an imperial stout doesn't get much smoother. Doesn't hurt that I absolutely love raspberries, especially in a dark beer. Near black pour, tan fizz head, sticky lacing. Aroma latches the raspberry from a distance. A touch of coffee, chocolate underneath. Flavor really doesn't attempt to hide the raspberry. When the berry stout was teased on the phone tap at Cloudburst, I was hoping something like this would hit the big menu. These beer needs to be enjoyed by everyone.

Sample at the taproom. Brown-black pour with a thin light beige head that recedes quickly to a thin outer ring. Sparse small patches of lace on the glass. Roast malt, berries and chocolate in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of charred malt, bittersweet chocolate, blackberry and raspberry. The finish is sweet-tart malted blackberry. Good beer all around.
