Nothing says fall better than this gnarly, spiced-up brown ale. We added 250 pounds of roasted knucklehead pumpkin along with traditional fall spice to this seasonal ale. Not your average knucklehead’s ale!

St Augs. Dark amber, medium head. Light gourd and nutmeg. Malts are more caramelly and there's a nutmeg and cinnamon spice that persists throughout. A decent, if by-the-numbers, example.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a hazy dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out pumpkin spices upfront, with some earthy notes. Flavour brings out pumpkin purée upfront, along with lots of malty sweetness. Pretty simple but competently constructed and balanced. Decent.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a clear, dark reddish brown with a lacing off-white head. Subtle cinnamon nose. Medium body, heavy brown sugar and pumpkin spice – not overdone though. A little phenols perhaps. No real bitterness. Works ok. 230213

Chestnut red color, hazy, with medium sized head. Mild aroma of pond water, nutmeg and cinnamon, very light biscuits. The mouthfeel is quite dry; there is some flavor of malt, pumpkin, light spices, light vegetables, stale water; the bitterness level is correct; in the final there is both a fruity and a earthy touch.
Not saying it’s bad, but there was no need for this one.
