Pale, Crystal, Carapils and Munich malts. Magnum, Fuggles, Cascade, Centennial and Chinook Hops. This ale is pure hop power but perfectly balanced with a rich malt character. Floral and aromatic, the hop character is enhanced by the technique of dry hopping, a traditional method of increasing aroma. Available from mid-October to February.

Older rating. Bottle. Pours deep amber to a brownish with a small off-white head. Oh my... the aroma is outstanding. Sweet tropical fruits blended with pine and grapefruits. Flavor is tasty... lotsa pine, lotsa grapefruit, balanced nicely with a tinge of malt. Finishes nice and bitter. Damn good. These guys know what I like in an IPA

I am not a big fan of this company, but took the opportunity to try this one as it was new to me. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very light caramel color with a small tan head. The aroma is sweet and hoppy. The flavor has a strong hop presence and has a light caramel and nut undertone. The body is overall lighter than I would have preferred.

Acquired via trade. This is either an awesome IPA or an average Double IPA. Either way it is a very good beer. Pours dark amber with a medium thin beige head. Thin speckles of lacing through the whole glass. Aroma of hops and oranges, as well as malt. Medium-bodied and hoppy, with pine and citrus flavors at the forefront. Nice malt balance too. The finish is tart and fruity with a lingering citrusy hops aftertaste. I like this beer.

An unclear amber beer with a small disappearing orange head. The aroma is lovely sweet with nice notes of hops. The flavor is very sweet with notes of hops, oil, grass, and alcohol.

This is a deep honey colored beer that has a wonderful creamy head with good lacing. It gives off a complex aroma of toffee, honey, vanilla, and caramel. The flavor and finish are well balanced between the sweetness and hop bitterness. The finish ends on a dry note. Very pleasing brew.

Orange-brown color, large webbed head. Clear hoppy aroma. Aroma enticing and exhilirating: citrus notes apparent. Herbal flavors dominate, possible woodiness. Earthy finish. A very "natural" and "rough-hewn" beer. Hearty. For me, sets the standard for what a "winter warmer" ought to be.

Nice amber colour with a dense medium-sized off-white head. Aroma of piney hops, citurs and some malt. Medium-bodied; Spicey hopppy flavour of pine cones and grapefruit with little else. Astringent aftertaste having hops, but ending discreetly. Overall, a nice beer-almost an Imperial IPA, but showing some class and ending more subtley! I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Chevy Chase Wine & Liquor in Washington, D.C. and sampled it on 20-December-2003.
