A barrel aged stout brewed with chocolate and roasted malts, black strap molasses and dark Belgian candy sugar, then aged for 8 months in Heaven Hills Bourbon barrels and Pinot Noir barrels. Now over 13 months old, the layers of flavors are just starting to unfold. Dark sweet chocolate, coffee, Bourbon and molasses with hints of vanilla greet you in the nose. Dark coffee and bitter-sweet chocolate intermingle with the roasted malts and dark molasses to finish with a noticeable Bourbon heat and a lingering sweet, dark vanilla finish. Look for notes of milk chocolate, coconut and cherry as it warms up.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. 2011 version. Aroma is roasted with dark malt, rich chocolate, Bourbon, vanilla beans, coffee, tart red fruits, and caramel fudge. Flavour is sweet and light tart with some bitterness in the finish. Body is full. Complex and lovely, lots of depth.

Draft @ Beer Temple, 2011 issue. Pitch black color. Frothy light brown head. Aroma's: boterbabbelaars, vanilla, hopjesvla, light tar/roast. Retronasal it's hopjesvla, sweet, vanilla, hint of sourness. Flavor is above moderate sweet, roasty, with a hint of sourness. Medium bodied, again, hardly feels like 8.8 ABV. Long finish, roasty, slightly dry, moderate bitter. Very interesting and unique.

Draft at beertemple. Black pour. Aroma has milk chocolate, bourbon vanilla, caramel fudge, hopjesvla, creamy malt and tiramisu. Taste has lots of creamy hopjesvla, milk chocolate, buttery caramel fudge, red fruit, oak and a long rich finish. Fantastic.

8 4 8 4 16 Draft at Beer Temple. Black with a beige head. Aroma of fudge, milk chocolate, caramel, vanilla, bourbon, oak and red fruity vinous notes. Flavour is heavy sweet. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap at the barrel house as Vintage Diesel #2. Pours really dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma is very chocolate, and maybe a little coffee. Full bodied. Flavor is chocolate, touch/hint of coffee, dark treacle, burnt malt. Pretty smooth. Finishes slightly earthy, slightly sweet, dark chocolate. Very nice.

On tap at Cascade, pours black with a medium creamy brown head. Aroma brings out rich molasses, vanilla and bourbon barrels - very decadent. Flavour is similarly decadent, with big notes of roasted malt, molasses, bourbon, vanilla and candied sugar. Extraordinarily complex, with a finish of chocolate and vanilla beans. Awesome bourbon impie.
