Bottle shared in London - huge thanks to C-Dog for tracking this ditty down. Pours shiny black with a frothy, beige head. The nose has burnt meat, some dark fruits. Medium sweet flavor, a bit of smoky peat, rich dirt, baking cocoa, burnt grass. Full bodied with fine carbonation; quite chewy. Warming finish with thick, bitter chocolate, smoke, heavy dirt. Lots of bittersweet cocoa. Quite dense. Decent.

Bottle from Pibar, Lausanne
Pitch black color, thick oily pour, with small brown head. Medium aroma of roasted malt with a vinous tone. Full bodied; the chocolate flavor is very good, the roasted character a bit excessive; strong bitterness; there is a moderate sourness, both from the dark malts and the wine; the alcohol perception is quite high; traces of sweet liquorice root in the end.
Less interesting, deep and elegant than the original version.
Sometimes more is less.

Opaque black color, small brown head. Roasted, coffeish aroma. Full-bodied. Roasted malts, lots of coffee-espresso with some cocoa. Also some portwine notes, not so strong. Long roasted aftertaste. Balanced.
