Phantasmagoria is an IPA that is low in malt flavors, but high in hops. We brew this beer as a nod to the big hoppy beers of the west coast. We use loads of citrusy and piney hops at the end of the boil and in the fermenter to make this beer a hop experience.

12oz can. About 7 months from canning, but still holds up rather well, I'd have to imagine it is that much better fresh. Anyway.. Unfiltered murky tan-orange body. Glass lacing white head. At 8% hardly much of a Double IPA, so it pretty much drinks like a big IPA. Pine and citrus hop tones, a little old school feeling, but perhaps that is just the age. Pretty tasty beer overall. The aroma sort of has an unappealing lemon pine-sol kind of thing going on, but I will also attribute that to age.

OnTap at Bier:30, Boise. Slightly hazy medium golden pour. Sopay dense off white head. Fresh clean piney resinous hop character. For only 8% feels boozy and stong. Not very bitter for a double, but holds its own. Some grassy musty notes as well.

From a 355ml can on 18/7/2019. Pours a clear light golden with a small head. The nose gives you some fruit and piney hops, as well as a touch of caramel. Despite the claim of lack of malt, the flavour delivers more caramel, citrus and stone fruit, and a satisfying hop kick at the back. Full bodied with average carbonation. A not entirely typical WC IPA which is very tasty and beautifully balanced.

Owl Farm, Brooklyn tap: pours golden with slight haze and white head. Aroma is bright tropical fruitiness with noticeable malts. Taste is somewhat sweet, large and fruity, has a malty touch especially in the finish. Pretty good.
