Cask at the Wellington Arms, Bedford. Light brown, bordering on tawny. A bit of white head from the natural carbonation. Nutty nose, with some berries and slight vinegar. Taste is an improvement: sweet tinged with bitter, with cereal, berry and crystal malt overtones. Balanced finish. Mouthfeel fuller than would be expected. I used to drink a lot from this brewery when I lived in Exeter. Nice to see they’re still putting out good beer.

Cask @ Cambridge Winter Ale Festival 2013, at the University Social Club, Mill Lane, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England CB2 1RX.Clear medium to dark amber color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, sweet malt, light roasted. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, toasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. IMO. borring but nothing wrong - just borring ! [20130119]

Cask Conditioned at The Castle, Furnival St., London
Darkish amber color. The aroma is simple, and the flavor doesn’t go far, plain caramel and correct bitterness. Classic Bitter, but no emotions.

Sampled cask conditioned. Amber coloured. Neutral nose. Light bodied, soft, fruity. Medium dry with a slightly bitter finish. A credible bitter.
