This NW style sour blends soured tripel, blonde and golden ales that were then fermented with the juice of white wine grapes. It's a delicious offering that appeals to both beer and wine drinkers.

Blonde with a touch of haze. Aroma is vinous, touch of ice wine , vinous, with a touch of acidity but a fair bit of sugar, pears, apricot...really nice, that ice wine sweetness is really nice.

Sample at Kurtkeller 006: Cascade-tastic 01 on 02/21/2014. Slightly hazed honey-gold color with a thin white head that recedes steadily. Spotty lacing. Vinous aroma with notes of apples and oak. Medium body with flavors of tart funky fruit, oak and earthy yeast. The finish is fruity with a spice and white wine aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

2009 Vintage at 8.33% The aroma is fairly vinous with moderate acidity and moderate fruitiness. The fruit is mostly grape but there is also a dominant golden plum note with fainter notes of cherry and tropical fruit. Pours a slightly cloudy golden color with a thin white head that quickly recedes though bubbles steadily come to the surface. Flavor starts sweet but there is only faint malt character. The moderately high acidity hits quickly. Mid palate the vinous and grape notes appear along with the fruitiness to balance it. The finish has lingering acidity and a light oak note. There is also some grape notes present in the finish. Low bitterness to balance the sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and the beer has medium high carbonation. Low acidic astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall a very enjoyable beer that has held up to the test of time. The malt character has definitely faded but the acidity is still clean and crisp as is the fruit. I might like a bit of a barnyard note though to balance the fruit and acidity.
