An Gof is brewed using a complex mix of malts. Maris Otter, Crystal, Chocolate and Smoked Malts plus Fuggles and Goldings hops.
Brewed to commemorate An Gof the St Keverne Blacksmith who led the Cornish Revolt of 1497. An Gof was defeated in London by Henry VII's army, whilst leading the revolt against unfair taxes. He was Hanged, Drawn & Quartered on Tyburn hill but defiant to the end declared that he and his followers would share a 'fame permanent & immortal.' He wasn't far wrong as 523 years later his name lives on in this excellent ale.

GBBF Day 4. Lightly hazy amber beer, small white head. Palate is smooth and slightly soft. Mild creamy malt, little sweet toffee. Nice balance of dried fruits, Finishes smooth and semi dry. Not bad.

Bottle 500ml.Clear light to medium amber orange colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light to moderate hoppy, grass, dusty hops, light leather. Flavour is moderate sweet, light light acidic and light to moderate bitter with a average duration, tart, caramel. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Bottle. It pours an almost clear body, amber in color and topped by a small, dense, off-white head. Fruity nose with some strange smoked hints. Some pale malts. Fruity, berryish flavor with some weird smoke like notes. Some bitterness, both initially and in the end. Medium to full body, leaving some rubbery coatings in the mouth. Definitely not a beer I could finish a bottle of. 130216

Bottle @ The 4th Annual Fastelavns-Smagning Ulfborg, 2013. Pours amber with bubbles on top. Dust, fruity tartness, caramel and bread. Thin.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small off white head. Aroma is herbal and light ashtray hops. Mild citric, toasted malty, herbal and bitter. Medium sweet and toasted malty into a bitter and dry finish.
