750 from Beer Revolution. Corked. The cork bifurcated laterally. Pours ruddy dark brown with a slight tan head. Aroma is darkly malty, woody, vinous. And sour. Med body. Flavor is vinous, moderately sour. Sort of red berry and oak. There’s a really earthy sort of flavor - but not the Belgian type. This flavor has to be experienced. Words are inadequate. Earthy, red berry, oaky, sour - doesn’t quite seem adequate. The stout aspects have turned into something like high quality red wine. Think Panel Barrique - but not that sour. Finishes like sucking oak wine barrels. But more than that.

Bottle shared with Yanick. Pours black with tan head. Nose and taste is mostly oak - very dry oak - with lots of vinous notes. Some vanilla and funky yeast. Very little stout characteristics. Some dry cocoa in the deep dark background of all this oak. Medium body. Finishes bone dry oak.
