330ml bottle from Alesela. Dark brown pour, no head. Burnt rubber aromas, not much else. Burnt toast maybe. Taste has a liquorice sweetness, burnt sugar, and just kinda lacks something. Light body, thin texture, Bitter burnt sugar finish. Not my kind of thing.

Bottle 330ml. @ home.[ Trade by Scopey ]. Clear dark dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy and open, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, english licorice, piratos, dark malt, hoppy bitter, roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130325]

Cask @ Bow [050213]
Very dark brown, ruby edges, thin tan head, some lacing
Aroma - some burnt roast, not a lot on the nose
Taste of soft dark malts, dark fruits, roasted malts, dab of coffee, some dark fruit jam, touch of blackcurrant
Palate Medium body, fairly sticky, quite smooth. Finish as main flavour, dryish bitter roast tail
Overall - This is pretty fruity as a stout but I found it getting a tad dull with the drinking - as stouts go it’s not bad... It’s the best beer I’ve had from this brewery so far

Bottle from Deeside Drinks Emporium. It pours very dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is rich roasted malt, coffee, liquorice, bitter chocolate and a hint of parmesan cheese in the background. The taste is roasted malt, bitter chocolate, coffee, ash, liquorice, faint acidity and earth with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body, low carbonation and soft mouth-feel. Good flavour and balance. Definitely my favourite Burnside to date. A step in the right direction.
