Bottle shared with JMD at HNB 24.01.15. Very dark brown. Small brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coconut and vanilla. Sour taste, with sour and slightly bitter berries. Thin mouthfeel and little carbonation. And shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 21.05.18. A gusher this time

Drukket i Skibotn 3 Jan 14. Kullsort. Ekstremt lite skum. Litt bobler inntil glasset. God aroma av røstet malt & lakris. Smaken overraskende tynn. Uharmonisk. Tørr sjokolade & kaffe. KI=3

Rerate, 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.1%. There is certainly no lack of carbonation now, the glass fills completely by beige foam, and the dark brown (nearly black) beer appears very slowly. Roasty aroma, notes of coffee, wood and ashes. Dry roasty flavour, but not sourish, notes of coffee, liquorice, wood and charcoal. I’m upping the score several points. Original rating: 330 ml bottle, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 5.1%. Black colour, no head nor any carbonation. Roasty dryish aroma with notes of wood and ashes. Sourish flavour with dry roasty notes, again wood and ashes. The lack of carbonation is an obvious fault, but I don’t think this would have been a great beer even with carbonation.

0.33l bottle. It most certainly doesn't look too inviting this. A murky deep charcoal black murky body, no head what so ever no matter how hard I struggle to get at least a few bubbles. Smells old, earthy and dark. Kinda buttery, old coffee, old chocolate. Not very nice on the nose either really. As dead flat as I've ever had a beer, and it's all thin and watery in the mouth. This has been a huge disappointment so far, but it tastes quite alright actually. Lots of nice bitter coffee, roasted to perfection and it's a really comfortably tasty coffee porter this. Lingering cold old grey coffee, smoke and chocolate in the finish. Yeah, I hate everything else than the taste. Weird stuff! 13.09.2014

4/10
Pent og riktig anslag med sjokolade og relativt tynt men fløyelsmyk olje-tekstur, men avslutter med syrlig bær-preg og tørrende astringens.

14.11.2014, 0,33l bottle @ home:
No head, just some bubbles. Aroma is dry roasted, dried grain, puffed rice, roasted grain, coffee, hay, burnt caramel, cocoa. Taste is sour-ish metallic, sour harsh coffee, harsh roasted grain, metal tank, sour grass, weeds. Little bitterness, harsh metallic mouthfeel, no carbonation. Holy crap on a cracker!!
