Bold, resinous and bursting with bright grapefruit aroma, this IPA is a tribute to the decades of hard work by conservationists to restore the James River as a bounty of vibrant aquatic life, eco-friendly recreational activity, and in our case, fresh brewing water. These efforts have culminated recently with the symbolic return of the endangered Atlantic sturgeon, a prehistoric, yet majestic behemoth of a fish, spotted as far up the James River as the fall line in Richmond.

Can. Hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Airy palate, mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Very light and fluffy malts, mild to medium sweet with a mild cream. Hops bring mild pine, decent orange with a very mild peachy tropical fruits. Mellow hop spice on the light dry finish. Light and fruity and drinkable. Nice one.

On tap at East Street Tap, Brighton on our birthday week, Friday 17th November 2017 Pours hazy gold but I am reviewing this Sat under the glare of red neon lights. Quite a perfume, floral edge to this, not picking up much grapefruit but I'm sure it's there. Soft in the mouth, a pleasant bitter bite throughout. Really good and quite a contrast to the Flying Dog Salted Caramel beer. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Keg at the brewdog Soho. A clear deep orange amber coloured pour with a lasting off white head. Aroma is big chewy toffee, butterscotch, some orange rind,. Flavour is composed of medium sweet chewy toffee, caramel, light pine and orange hop,. Little stale. Palate is medium sweet, frorhy carbonation. Little woody hop finish. Pretty disappointed.

Draft at Yard House-Springfield. Hazy medium golden body, small soft head, tons of lacing. Hops first on the nose, followed by minor citrus notes. Taste pushes the citrus up closer to the front, hops close it out with a short, sharp bite.
