A dry hopped brown stout with a creamy tan head. Look out for smooth roasted malts, chocolate and liquorice on the palate. A perfect sneaky wee session stout.

On cask @ Cloisters Highland Tap takeover. Pours a nice opaque black with a fawn creamy head - it looks like a stout in other words. The nose seems gentle to start with giving some chocolate and creamy aromas but this really develops as the head dissipates slowly. It develops into hints of charcoal and big charcoal notes. The same really happens with the taste as the charcoal and liquorice flavours intensify with the head going down. The palate is excellent, being medium to full bodied despite the sessionable ABV and there is a lovely creamy texture. Like the Orkney Porter it has an elegant gently falling away finish.Overall, I am really impressed with this beer - some flavours like charcoal I associate with a dry stout whilst others like the chocolate are what I usually find in the stronger stouts. This is the best session strength stout I’ve tasted from a Scottish brewer! It was mentioned on the night that there’s a 9% version - now that is sneaky!
