Can 44 cl. Pours a clear black with an orange hue and a neat, creamy and lacing beige head. Citrusy hop aroma with a hint of licorice and roast. Body is a little thin but with good licorice roast. Yeasty with little bitterness. Not sure I get the Black NEIPA, let's call it a Black Pale Ale as it neither has the hops nor the body for a NEIPA. 081225

25 September 2025. Can from Hotel Landhauszeit, Bad Münstereifel. Shared with the lovely Anke!
A: hazy black, stable, foamy, tan head.
A: grapefruit, pine nuts, toast, bay leaf, red onion.
T: sweetish mango, bitter grapefruit, toast, coffee powder.
F: bitter piney hops, grapefruit, toasted nuts, coffee.
P: medium body, oily texture, average carbonation.
Not too aggressively roasty, but certainly not recognisable as a 'black NEIPA' effort.

440ml can from RusBeerShop in Moscow. Pours opaque black with a beige head. Aroma is juicy tropical fruits, pine, light roastiness. Taste slightly dry, light bitter finish.

Cloudy deep brown with a tall ivory-coloured head. Citrus fruits, pine needles, toasted & roasted notes, some coffee. Medium dry. Light to medium ending bitterness. Not bad.

A dark reddish brown beer, no head. Aroma of roasted dark malt, piney hops, coffee. Taste of piney bitter hops, coffee, roasted dark malt, liquorice, moderate bitterness.

440ml can. Jet black colour with average, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white to beige head. Roasty, dark malty and slightly earthy, hoppy aroma, hints of coffee grounds, a touch of eucalyptus, toasted oat flakes. Taste is roasty, dark malty and minimally caramel malty with subtle residual sweetness, slightly earthy, herbal and minimally fruity hoppy, hints of coffee grounds, some instant coffee, a touch of mocha, hints of mandarine, a touch of eucalyptus, liquorice, toasted oat flakes.
Oily-watery texture, minimally dry palate, medium, prickly carbonation.
Relatively wide spectrum of flavours, not completely harmonious composition, though; has its strength on the malty side - decent.
