Happy Women’s History month!

We’re thrilled to be bringing back a staff favorite in Frauenbier. This schwarzbier is a collaboration between the women of Aslan and pours beautifully black with hints of ruby. A nutty, bready flavor is balanced with flavors of bitter chocolate before finishing smooth, dry, and an essence of floral. We’re so grateful for the women on our staff who make Aslan, Aslan. Whether they’re pouring you a beer, producing your beer, marketing, or planning events (the list goes on, seriously, there are too many roles to list!), we have a truly amazing team of women to thank for making Aslan a success!

Can from Total Wine in Vacaville California. Pours dark brown black with a huge tan head that turned foamy and laced. Aroma of toffee and chocolate. Medium body. Fairly dry and moderately bitter. Excellent representative of the style.

12oz can pours out brown topped with a tan head. Nose is light burnt toast some nutty notes. Taste is more of the nice light burnt toast some nuts and a little grass.

I think the name plays on the fact that dark beers in Czech are traditionally considered to be for women. Of course, beer geeks don't give a shit about whatever Czech gender norms happen to be, we just want good beer so we're all in on Czech dark beer. This take is medium chestnut, med head. Sweet dark malt, quite husky, thin, off dry with a surprising amount of bitterness.
