BC fresh pressed apples fermented dry and then aged for 5 months in Ardbeg scotch barrels. Ardbeg, from Islay in Scotland, is famous for its peaty and smoky flavours and this cider represents that with abundance. Hugely peaty on the nose with a light salty finish this cider is designed to be a sipper, just like the whisky that influences it.

750mL bottle, pours a clear blonde with almost no head. Nose is pure peated whiskey, with some tart apples in the background — that’s pure Islay. Flavour is much the same, with intense peat, smoke, and tart apple core in the background. I don’t think this is exactly cohesive or complex, but it’s a cool experiment.

The body of a cider but smells and tastes like Ardbeg. Hard to know what to make of this.
