This robust, barrel-aged lager is light gold in color with a slight haze. It has aromas of Red Delicious apple & tangerine with a slight mustiness. It has a bright, cider-like flavour with notes of gooseberry and canned pineapple. LNR has low bitterness, medium carbonation, full body, surprisingly low booziness and a semi-dry finish. We didn’t rush with this beer; it sat in port barrels for two years until we felt it hit its peak. Don’t rush when you drink it; it’s a sipper, not a crusher.

Pale amber, thick head. This beers sounds like a burly pale dbk, and that’s what it looks like, too. The nose is this boss level sticky pale bock…like pale Samichlaus level thick, with a big port finish on it…so as described, but it’s a cool take. You know damn well when port barrels landed in Hanseatic cities they were handed off to local brewers and distillers, so this concept has deep roots. More fun than truly amazing but worth it for sure…that fruitiness and hint of raisiny port is totally worth imprinting on a pale doppelbock.
