Can, 0.33l. Aroma of passion fruit, pineapple, mango and cough syrup. Pours cloudy golden color with medium frothy white head, floating yeast particles and sparkling appearance. Taste starts light sweet and refreshing fruity, follows by biscuit malt and grass, mouthfeel is crisp and dry, while finish is heavy bitter. Light to medium body, thin texture and lively carbonation in palate. Bitterjuice...

Can at O'Neill's, Reading. Hazy gold with a white head. Great tropical fruit aroma. Tastes of tropical fruit with a hint of grapefruit, but the flavour doesn't quite live up to the smell. Sweet and juicy; maybe a little one-dimensional but enjoyable all the same.

Fruited (literally) IPA from Tiny Rebel, Wales' best known craft brewery; can from De Caigny. Very thick and frothy (wheat-enhanced), 'papery' lacing, only very slowly thinning, egg-white head resting atop an initially lightly hazy, pure and warm yellow golden beer, turning more equally hazy and deeper 'old gold' with sediment added. Aroma of fresh grapefruit peel and grapefruit juice, overripe - if not rotting - mango, orange-scented bath soap, guava, tropical orchids, mojito including the peppermint leaves, ripe pineapple, stale lime juice, passionfruit juice, hints of urine, camphor and whipped cream. Evidently very lively fruity onset, lychee, kiwi, pineapple and mango with a citrusy freshness all around, sweetish with sourish lime-like notes, medium carbonated with mild minerally effects; supple, soapy, slick mouthfeel. Doughy and cereally malt base, with a very outspoken wheat soapiness to it; retronasally, a very perfumey, almost ladies perfume- and bath foam-like scent comes up early and colours the finish, with the added fruit juice mingling with a spicy, leafy hop bitterness in the end. The fruit juice, probably mostly pineapple but reminiscent of passionfruit too, adds sweetness and some extra sourishness, but in a not too overpowering way, blending in well with the fruity character of the hops. The wheaty soapiness lingers after swallowing, along with the fruit effect. Not quite the New England style IPA I was expecting, rather a more 'classic' international style IPA made sweeter and 'artificially' juicier by adding fruit juice, with somewhat lemonade-like effect yet not too much to become ridiculously sweet and childish. Interesting, though not my personal cup of tea when it comes to IPAs.
