Bomber from GM Liquors. Nose of sweetness, floral hops, and butterscotch with the butterscotch dominating. Clear copper with a medium beige head. Flavor is lightly bitter, lightly sweet, with lots of butterscotch. Finishes with light bitterness.

Bomber from the Natomas BevMo. Pours clear, medium dark, ruddy copper/amber with a 3 finger creamy/foamy beige head. Aroma seems caramel with floral hop, but there’s a strong irritant that suggests there’s more than that. Full bodied. Flavor is suggestive of chocolate and caramel. It’s just a bit harsh, could be a combo of heat and hop. There’s definitely hop, possibly floral and caramel. Overall there’s a very strong set of flavors. It finishes just barely on the sweet side, with a hint of bitter chocolate. Pretty good stuff.

Pours deep amber into a snifter. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Butterscotch and anise aromas. Sweet butterscotch upfront turning hot before the dry, lasting bitter pith finish.

22oz twist off cap bomber pours clear pure amber with mostly tight 2 minute long head. I can easily smell the molasses, spicy maple, fusel like booziness and butterscotch long before I get close enough to aromatically interrogate the beer. A closer inspection reveals an intermingling of volcanically violent notes of butterscotch and caramel as well as slightly lesser notes of spicy black strap molasses, roasted malts, harsh booziness and fading levels of caramel and butterscotch. The taste has malts, roasted malts, black strap molasses, harsh boozy notes and fading hints of caramel and butterscotch. The harsh booziness get worse as the finish approaches and makes me wish the buttery popcorn and butterscotch notes would return in vigor to help quell boozy attack. I think there may be some merit in aging this.

Bottle (22oz twist top). Pours with a completely clear bronze body and a small, bone hued off-white head. Aromas of alcohol, brandy, orange peel, raw table sugar, fusel, solvent, a bit of a pine note (that I get in homebrew when I dry hop with simcoe). Bit of a cotton candy aroma as well. Light butterscotch. Flavors are extremely big and boozy. Bitter and a bit spicy. Astringent finish. Not very easy to drink. Raisins, caramel, black currants. Tons of alcohol and toffee. Really boozy! Harsh. Creamy bubbles. Solvent.
