Don’t feel guilty - this is an uber session ale. Traditional English hops give a balanced bitterness. This really malty, amber brown ale has a residual sweetness with a biscuity, malty and herby aroma.

Handpull cask at the Swan, Mountsorrel. Orange/brown, clear with a creamy off-white head. Low aroma, I'm getting a bit of vanilla and some tannic tea. The taste is dominated by a chalky malt, which gives it the impression of a stronger beer. Some orange peel notes in the finish along with toast and caramel. Much like the 'boys' bitters' of yesteryear. I had a pint rather than a half, seeing how it's only 3%. Well played, Pheasantry, well played.
