The people of Tampa Bay have fallen prey to a pirate invasion annually for well over 100 years. After more than a century of failing to repel these seafaring raiders in their anachronistic wooden ships and despite access to modern sea, land and air arsenals that ostensibly should make short work of wind powered vessels equipped with naught but cast iron cannons and raging scurvy, it occurred to the folks of Cigar City Brewing that if you can’t beat them, start saying “Arrrr Matey!” We have brewed Invasion Pale Ale, a citrusy, tropical and low-alcohol session beer brewed for those long days of marauding, pillaging and pirating. Cheers!

6 week old can into a pint. A: Pale clear gold with a short-lived beige head and slow visible bubbles. Lasting film but not much lace. S: Light scent of bread and sweet tangerine. T: Dry and bitter with tart citrus and pith. A cracker or woody note with faint pine. M: Very light and snappy with stiff carbonation, finishing dry with a lingering tartness. High drinkability. O: Simple but well done. Very good low alcohol, spritzy crusher. Should have bought 2 sixers since it’s not available in my area.

12 ounce can. Pours a hazy honey gold color. Frothy white head with clinging lace. Soapy, fragrant hoppy nose. Toasted earthy malt I flavor. Grassy hops and caramel malt in finish. Pleasant and juicy without being goosy. Yes indeed.

Draught@CBC2015. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is tropical fruits, some mild toffee, grass and mild floral notes to it as well. Flavour is very similar, but also got some nectary and mild honeylike sweetness to it. Mellow bitterness in the finish. Very refreshing.
