The people of Tampa Bay have fallen prey to a pirate invasion annually for well over 100 years. After more than a century of failing to repel these seafaring raiders in their anachronistic wooden ships and despite access to modern sea, land and air arsenals that ostensibly should make short work of wind powered vessels equipped with naught but cast iron cannons and raging scurvy, it occurred to the folks of Cigar City Brewing that if you can’t beat them, start saying “Arrrr Matey!” We have brewed Invasion Pale Ale, a citrusy, tropical and low-alcohol session beer brewed for those long days of marauding, pillaging and pirating. Draft @ CCB. Dorée, col blanc. Arôme au bouquet bien houblonné, belles effluves agrumes mettant bien en avant un caractère de pamplemousse et un léger pin. Palais est agréablement malté, agrumes, note herbacée, sec au fini avec une sorte d’houblonné vert frais.

Can. Pours a slightly hazy honey color with a very thin head but luscious aromas of tropical fruit (mango and orange), nectarine/apricot and a bit of honey. Flavor is a thing of beauty, especially for a 5%. Amazing beer.

Can. Cloudy deep gold/amber. Frothy white head, slowly diminishing. Aroma of pine, resin, spruce, toasted grain, bread. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Clean, crisp. Flavor of pine with resin notes. Some citrus juiciness, but the lingering flavor is on the resin side. Above average.

Tap@CBC 2015, Blue Session - medium hazy golden coloured pour with white head. Aroma and taste is a medley of tropical and citrus fruits, medium pale malts, juicy fruity with peach,grapefruit, satsuma, lemon, refreshing, hoppy bitter finish. Lovely.

Keg at Cigar City Brewpub, 19/02/15. Lightly hazed golden amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is tangy citric peel, mandarin, orange jelly, light hop. Taste comprises sharp grapefuit, citric pith, straw, tangerine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a juicy hop rinse. Decent enough APA.

Refrigerated 12 ounce aluminum can poured into a glass. Hazy golden with small off-white head. Aroma is nice tropical fruit hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and some small- bubble lacing. Taste is tropical fruit.
