Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 10 | Overall - 6.5
Keg at the Railway, Belper. Dark brown and opaque with a ring of beige head. Milk chocolate, black grape, a touch of salt plum in the aroma. Taste has a lovely balance: the sweetness is not so much tempered as beaten back with burnt malt and gritty bittering hops. Long finish with black cherry, nori seaweed, Finnish tar liquorice. Medium to heavy carbonation. A strange and wonderful concoction.
