Gravity cask at the 2019 CAMRA Rutland Beer Festival, Rutland County Museum. Mahogany brown, hazy with a film of beige head. Horehound' caramel and medicinal notes on the nose. The taste starts sweet and bready, and then the intense bitterness kicks in and takes the reigns to the finish. Lingering aftertaste of burnt cinnamon toast, catarrh syrup, cocoa bitters. An uncompromising English strong ale, one of the better Everards beers I've tried.
