Handpull cask at the Ale Wagon, Leicester. Mahogany, translucent with a filmy off-white head. Potpourri and mulled spices on the nose. Suprisingly bitter on the tongue: the sweet spice notes are overridden by a sharp bittering hop. Slightly acrid in the finish, but it makes a change from sickly sweet Christmas ales. Nicer than I'd expected.
