2012 bottle 65/192. Aroma is odd. Light cinnamon and lemon with a moderate amount of honey character. Medium esters of raisin, fig and light stone fruit. Pours a copper orange with a thin, light tan head that quickly recedes leaving only a thin film on the edges. Flavor is somewhat sweet with some fruit notes and moderate citrus. I don’t get much cinnamon or walnuts at all. The lemon zest is the overwhelming flavor with some sweet honey notes. The citrus adds a moderate amount of acidity which was unexpected. A bit of a cider note as it warms. Honey also becomes much more prevalent as it warms. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low acidic astringency with medium low alcohol warmth. The braggot finishes drier than I was expecting which works well with the lemon zest and acidity. Overall it is interesting beverage but I’m not sure it is what a braggot is supposed to be and it certainly doesn’t taste like baklava. Quit citrusy with a light acidity. I kind of like it, buts its odd as well. Really not sure how to rate this.

Clear deep gold with a bit of blush. Thin, quickly falling off-white head. Sweet fruity aroma. Faint maraschino cherry and honey. Very tart flavor, almost sour. I don’t know what to make of it. I never tasted a Mead like this, actually I don’t know how many Braggots I’ve had. For now, I’ll pass on having this one again.

Bottle 22fl.oz. @ The Danish Summer Gathering, TFODRBSG12, Ulfborg. [ bottle # 116/192 ]. Clear medium orange colour with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy honey - caramel, cinnamon, lemon. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, honey, fruity - flowery, spicy, yeasty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120818]

2012 Colorado Mead Tasting at Armin’s house. Thanks to Armin! Pours a peachy orange appearance with a small white head and some sediment. Big lemon zesty, grapefruity, apple, honey aroma. Fairly tart, a bit peppery, zesty lemon, apple flavor. Pretty strange but not bad.

Colorado mead tasting 2012 - turbid orange - nose is sweet and very herbal, tea-like - a bit of toasty grain character - apricot - flavor is of a tart Belgian ale with a touch of honey - pretty darn acidic, actually - too much so, and not even the honey balances - almost tastes a little infected, actually - sharp and rough all around - meh.

Bottle 117 of 192. Pours hazy orange with off white head. Nose/taste of cinnamon, honey, lemon, coriander, orange peel, peach, herbs, black walnuts and lemongrass. Medium body. Fruity. Finishes slightly spicy/herbal with cinnamon.

Bottle @ The 5th Danish Summer Gathering Ulfborg, 2012. Pours clear golden with a white head. Cinnamon, corainder and lemon peel. Baking yeast.

Bottle @ Summer Gathering, Ulfborg. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are honey, malt, yeast, spices and has a sour finish.

Bottle @ FOneFan, Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering 2012. Hazy amber with tiny off-white head. Aroma is malt, cinnamon, honey and caramel. Flavour is malt, caramel, honey, sweet, yeast and dark fruits.
