Handpull cask at the William Stead (JDW), Darlington. Mid- to dark gold, hazy with a small off-white head and lots of lacing. Light aroma, some stone fruit and orange peel, gentle bready notes, possibly slightly sulphurous. Bright fruity taste, bags of apricot, with a sweet taste that becomes more bitter in the finish. Maybe a little astringent in the aftertaste. Not much in the body, soft carbonation. Pretty good overall.
